Hanuman's lore has always been an inspiration for yogis, an example of power and humility, ferocity and gentility, a character that invites us to look more deeply into our own possibilities. The basics of Hanuman's story is, of course, within the Ramayana and other well-known sources. But when we begin to look more deeply for the secret Hanuman, the Son of Anjani who bears five faces that reflect back the avatars of Vishnu and redefine his being, we are usually at a loss for more.
Our seminar will take up enough of the familiar lore to create a foundation and then begin the beautiful and complex story of Hanuman as Pancamukha Anjaneya. Here Hanuman is not only his monkey self, he is Varaha the Boar, Narasimha the Man-Lion. Garuda the Raptor, and Hayagriva the Horse. But why and what does this have to do with Hanuman? Are there stories for this complex character of Five Faces?
Join us to learn together. No previous experience is expected or required. Bring an open mind and a willing heart. You meet Hanuman as your own self.
